Tell the truth, I hardly noticed the artifacts but like the attitude of 'if you're saddled with it, flaunt it'. I like this very much; the off-centered spiral gives it a sort of semi-nude crustacean look. Also like the contrast the background provides. One suggestion tho: try getting rid of the contour lines in the background, keeping them only on the spiral itself.
