I'm not a Christian either, though the word "God" and some Christian imagery has been known to appear in my work from time to time :) My fav line is: "Our eyes met, and we embraced serenity", it has a nice feel to it... I do think that using the word sought twice in the first stanza was a little redundant, but, other than that, I liked it.
