Description

The North-Eastern part of France is called Alsace and it is divided in two sections: Bas-Rhin and Haut-Rhin. The Alsace has been subject on warfare for a very long time. Sometimes Germany ruled this area, sometimes France did. Since World War 1, the Alsace is a part of France. Wine making is one of the most profitable activities in the Eastern regions and vineyards are dominating a great deal of the territory between the river Rhine and the mountains in the West. A region, called Vosges is situated there. These regions share a series of mountains with the same name (Vosges). On the Eastern part of the mountains called Vosges are the most beautiful and romantic cities if you like. Romantic because most of the older houses are built like the houses on the photograph above. This picture has been taken during a vacation back in 1985. It shows a well known scene in the middle of the city of Kaysersberg, one of the most famous cities in the area. The photo originally was a photoslide which has been digitalized (I am pretty sure about that this time :-) It is because of the processing some image errors are visible. I hope you will look over it.
