This one was done in Vue 4 with just a tiny little bit of Postwork in Photoshop CS

Yikes, I don't want to meet that at night ... or during the day. :D The pose and composition of the scene is great. This is an excellent render. If I would have to give a helpful comment though I would suggest playing with some spotlights on the character. It could help draw the viewers eyes towards the creature more. Not that I'm such an expert or anything. ;)
