Description

I hate JPEG compression...it was bad enough when it was over 800k, but now it's under 512 it seems so much worse... Anyway, this is my first render on terragen.

Not bad - it's a pity that the pic is so big - take always not more than 1024 x 768 pixel.

It was originally designed as a wallpaper for my pc...there's a second version to come, but it has to wait till tomorrow...

Welcome to RDR amd Terragen. Try your renders in 1280 x 960 size and then resize to 1024 x 768 for jpg upload. You will find the compression enhances the overall look and will take up less Kb space. Hope you find a world of enjoyment with this terrain program. Again, welcome.

Yeah, reduce the size of the pic (if you're using photoshop, it has excellent JPG compression algorithms with minimum loss); also just have the snow on level and lesser sloped areas (i.e. play with the max sloope settings) - nice first pic, though! Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!

i'm gonna send you a couple of my surfaces for you to try and possibly a terrain made in WorldMachine! - this does look good but you are too close in and there is no surface detail - get ready to enjoy yourself over the next couple of days weeks months!!!!
