I like this one a lot better. I love the effect for the weapon/impact, it's really good looking. How did you do that?

I actually decided to add that after the rendering was done. So the beam, blast and smoke trail are painted in Photoshop (probably would have been easier to do it with hypervoxels but oh well). I'll post the layers pulled apart when I get a chance. Thanks for the comments guys.
