Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

shivers yes. you should have posted it; trust your instincts. it's beautiful. there's hope here. i need to see that. water is the essence of that lake. it's also the essence of who we are. walks closer & puts hands on stones. i have to feel them. the vibrations from the water...soothing. i see a face in that stone. 2 of them...stacked on top of each other. like a totem pole. i see faces everywhere in these stones. wish i had some power point thing so i could circle them for you. but believe me, they're there. i can't believe you would have even considered NOT ending this series with this one. all those sad stone faces surrounded by the essence of life. it's a reminder to me that the essence of life is God. and he surrounds us...all those sad stone faces. time to climb out of this canyon. there's a patch of blue sky. vote. into favs.

Fiting end to a great hike...you had a lot of great photos from it and finishing with water was a good idea. I see faces in the stones too--the bones of the earth. Thanks Jan!

I see an elephant, face on, and a reclining polar bear cub, but them I am more whimsical than most, Jan-Carel. This has been an inspiring series, and I thnak you for the privilege of viewing it. Wherever you are this Christmas and New Year, I pray that you experience the Peace of the Child, and the Joy in His presence. Regards, John.
