Description


King Kamehameha the Great: King Kamehameha the 1st, Conquer of the Islands and the most famous King was born between 1740 - 1758. Hawaii was divided and ruled by two people; Kamehameha and Kiwalao. A battle of war broke out between the two and Kamehameha killed Kiwaloa. Later, Kamehameha had set out to conquer the other Islands in a bloody battle. Kamehameha became our 1st King and ruler of all Hawaiian Islands. King Kamehameha died May 8, 1819. This Statue in Kamehameha's honor was erected in 1997 at Hilo BayFront area. It stands approx 14 ft tall. There are 3 other statues built. The original is in Kapa'au (Big Island of Hawaii), a replica at Ali'iolani Hale (in Honolulu) and another in the Capital Building in Washington D.C. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

Did King Midas ever visit the islands? The contrast between king and royal robe creates a stunning effect and you were able to capture it perfectly. Appreciate the historical info too.
