Description

This is Leh-Kangmo in the Gongzhai Highlands, home town of Halok Shangrel. This picture was designed as the background view in the pic of Halok. Funny how it got created as a background and then got bigger than the picture for which it was to be a background. It's a 75mb file and is actually 3 Bryce scenes deep, which was the only way I could get the level of detail that I wanted. My poor old PII about choked on the main file as it was. DesignCad, Bryce 4, Photopaint Thanks also for Mats, Meshes & Morphs to Skygirl, Two-Sword, Pinhead, Liteluvr, Berkus, Traveller and several others (I've had those items so long I forget where they came from).

A bit of fog and haze would do wonders here. Great pic.

Very nice. I love these buildings (I do have a verrrry soft spot for the Asian) and am curious about these people and their history - so I guess it accomplishes that part for your story. I am curious, are you going to do an e-novel with graphics, or a hardcopy with prints of the graphics, or both? Anyway, great stuff.

I haven't really decided about the final format. I've been so busy creating the world for the story, with maps, several different nations with ethnic details, even a complete language for the primary culture, that the story itself is going slowly. When I started it, ebooks were not a possibility, now ... who knows where it'll lead? Anyway, it keeps me occupied.

Beautiful, I really like it. I wouldn't mind seeing it with a little more light (so I could see more detail).

Interesting image, but I think that it turns more realistic if you pay more attention on the rock textures. And as sloth said add a little haze to create more atmosphere.

I need to learn more about Gamma correction, I think. The BMP & even the JPG are bright enough on my screen at home, but I agree (when looking at it from work) that when posted it appears rather dark. I actually tried it with some haze but that all but obliterated the farthest buildings so I took it back out. Well, the learning process continues...

I really like this image! I'd suggest more contrast and drama to the lighting...the ambiance settings are perfect...agree with Ionah about the rock textures, looks good in the distance (like the snow) but lined up close. Some very low density haze could help give depth to the picture, try setting haze density at 1 and work from there.

I would like to se this image a bit lighter, but for that it is very good.

Nice image. I think that there's some good advice going in the above comments: some haze would be good. If you begin to lose some of the rear-most buildings, that's OK, the architectural style is defined by the foreground...and the texturing of the rocks. Also some sharper lighting...maybe the sun/ambient low in the sky so it throws distinct shadows. But on the whole, I like this. Are any of the local inns taking reservations?
