Description
A mile of river gorge between bridges, in the Autumn. In such a large view, the sides of the gorge don't seem as steep as when you are trying to climb them, but the praries really are pancake-flat and that begins to become evident. This stretch of river is also between the upper and lower locks and dams, which keep it flooded for navigation past Saint Paul up to Minneapolis, so the river here is artificially wide and only appears to be deep. I happened to process this one for somebody, given time I would post more of the better Fall colors shots I did collect.

Im sure I have never seen a better example of fall colors on the river. Im thinking that must be the Lake street bridge from up river. Thanks for sharing it.

~ this view is made from the "Ford Bridge" (built jointly, as the Mississippi River Bridge) ~ those white arches at the top are part of the newer replacement Lake Street / Marshall Avenue bridge, seem from downstream
