BIO
Behind Fractalwoody you find Henk van der Poel; born (1949) and raised in The Hague, Holland. From education I'm not an artist or what-so-ever, but have my PhD in Chemistry . Mid 2007 I have stopped with working after being employed in the coatings industry for more then 25 years.
In my childhood I have had lessons in painting (water & oil) but over the years I have lost it. Recently I have made a restart with digital photography (photography has always been a hobby) and since mid 2004 I have discovered Fractal art. Through the digital photography I came in contact with the fantastic Renderosity site. It was my son Caspar drawing my attention to this Renderosity site and encouraged me to shared my photo's. By means of Renderosity I came in contact with and fascinated by Fractals; Ultrafractals first, followed by Apophysis & Xeno-Dream. My favorite artist are Picasso, Kandinsky, van Gogh and Karel Appel and I always like the painters from the "Haagsche School" (= The Hague), Mesdag, Breitner etc. These 19th century painters made beautiful paintings from the area where I was born and raised. Still to day you can recognise in some paintings the location and they made fantastic paintings from the dunes and the sea. I'm married with Danne and we have three sons (Rogier, Caspar & Maurits); the youngest is still living at home. We are living between The Hague and Amsterdam, close to the sea, behind the dunes. It is the area world famous for its flowers, the tulips, daffodils etc. The rendorosity site is so inspiring. By all the work which is shared on the site you learn with respect to the software you use that the impossible appears to be possible and that the possibilities are growing and growing over the weeks. It is an invitation to work and to explore more and more the tools you have in your hands. Looking forwards to meet you on renderosity! Kind Regards Henk

Wonderful fractal .... wonderful color and light ! Presented so well ... with the background fractal in some more shady colors ! Funny because I too could not get my eyes on the Spirals at the bottom in those nice "tiger-stripes" .. there you got a wonderful potential new image making a close up of that one .... as it looks like one that really could make a powerful image ! ..... Excellent Job !
