just trying to simule caustics, but really impossible with c4d 5.1 :( ... woooooo i wanna the xl 7 :))

i hear you i did ,i tried the cinema 7 on a demo cd and i tell ya i never had so much fun with the caustics and raytracing and also the radiosity is really cool!between cinema 7,lightwave 7 and 3d max 4 a fella really has some tough choices,im saving up for a really highend app but i dont even know which one im going to get,as far as simulating caustics theres really nothing short of post rendering that you can do,unless theres a material that can come close,oh well pic looks good anyway:)

Considering you are using Cinema 5, your attempt at caustics is admirable. Why not try the demo, or get a student license Cinema 7 for $695 at www.journeyed.com? Even if you are not a student, you have to know someone that is in Junior High, High School, or college that can act as a go-between. And Maxon allows the same rights with the student license as the commercial license for an individual. Look into it.
