Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

mouth drops open wow! would you look at that!!! never, ever, ever did i see pine cones look like that!!! i've seen them covered in snow and ice before...but not like this!!! LOL...pines in the freezer! they remind of this time when i was about 10..at church. i was in some group and a lady was showing us how to do cake decorating. she took the shell of a sugar ice cream cone and decorated it like a pine tree. funny...see a picture and the associations you have...LOL. this is just exquisitely beautiful. perfect...even without the red bird!!! LOL! where is that bird anyway??? :) all i see are a bunch of ice-covered catepillars!!!! for real!!!! you get A++++++++'s for this. Vote!

Ah, Jan-Carel, this sends a delightful frisson up and down my spine. To view another unique work of God's hand, just after Christmas, is a rare gift itself. On CHristmas, I ended up at a Christmas Day mass, in Our Lady of Good Aid Cathedral, Motherwell, Scotland, along with my twin brother, and a primary school of kids, presenting their children's mass. Brought back memories it did. And all after I expected to be stuck out in the 'outback', with no transport etc! Aye, the ways of the Lord, are mysterious indeed. And I got to see my inlaws, my family, and my mother.. not to mentions some beautiful, snow covered countryside. Unfortunately my camera was inaccessible, and we were on the motorway, but I did get to see it. We even saw a red coated fox, standing on the 'island' at the approach to a roundabout. I am sorry that I cannot share a photo with you all, but maybe you can imagine it. Bright, lively, alert, inquisitive, and well lit at about 0920 hours in the morning. It flew off when my son tried to snap a shot with his camera mobile phone.

Wow, another example of a frozen beauty. It is fascinating how nature can change something dull into such beauty. And it is fascinating how men can capture those examples on a way people like to see again and again, such as in this case..
