Description

UF only, except for the sig. Thanks for your lovely comments on my previous work! I didn't expect to find such great comments during Christmas, I was susprised! I'm sorry that I haven't commented so much the past days! After learning the masking/texturing/sphere's etc using most of the times coloring formulas as Doodads, I'm now trying to find out other formulas, using the techniques I learned. Find it very difficult to find nice shapes etc! This one took me aaaaaaaaages and I'm not even satisfied!! Does everyone go through such fases? I'm curious about your experiences and how you managed this!

Wow what a fun image to view! Your hard work with textures and layering is truly evident. My experience so far when I get in a rut..is to make many layers of the original....then to each one apply a different inside, and outside...tweek colors....and man oh man, the most incredible stuff comes out at ya! Wonderful design, and I like the colors, light and texturing. We all go through times when nothing seems to come together to our satisfaction, I think. At least, I certainly have. Some people leave it alone for a day or two or longer; sometimes it helps to take a break. I, on the other hand, should take a break..but usually persist until I find something with which I'm nearly satisfied. I also look for formulas that "switch" easily, from Mandelbrot to Julia and vice-versa..get some of my nicest shapes from switches. Very nice work, Marit!

i think this is one of your prettiest. I love the vibrant colors and whimsical shapes and splashes of gold. I also like the formulas that have switch capabilities. I love trying all sorts of things with no rhymn or reason. I always seem to do better than when i have a set plan. I know most people prefer to have an idea first. Im the same way with my hand drawing and painting. I like to let the process unfold as a suprise. I can really see all of your dedication to learning the program.

This is really good. It's amazingly 3 dimensional, great texture, beautiful light accents, and nice subtle colors. I'd love to see what Leonardo DaVinci would think of it. A+

Oh this one is very very nice .. dont doubt this one ! Colors are really wonderful ! .. and your textures came out .. adding to all of this ! Oh yes .. I think we all go through phases where each and everything we do ... we toss and turn .. try again .. going looking for the ultimate fractal .. not finding anything even close. I know I do .. sometimes you can go look for hours .. and it seems like all the good stuff is hiding from you !! :) ... Also when I have just made a really good one .... I feel like nothing is really good enough for uploading. I also sometimes leave it be for some days .. maybe giving up on it. At the moment I have one I almost change every day .. thinking now it is maybe ok ... and I still do not really feel I am there with it yet .. so yes .. everything sounds very familiar :) Hugss Susanne

Have you ever heard about the expression.. that one is his own worst critic??? I will warn you,, it only gets worst.. lol.. but take advise from me... just overcome that fear and you will be surprised to find out that many images you don't like is sometimes more popular by other fellow artist.. This one is gorgeous...

i like the texturing you have used here - the roughness oif the background makes the foreground more transparent and ethereal - i love these warm and happy colours!

It has a rather unconventional attitude to it that says "I'm beautiful and I know it - and that's all that matters!" [ it must be female - LOL. Just joking there. I love all you ladies.]

You're not satisfied with this? Somewhere I read the words: "If you stop trying to get better, you'll stop being well!"(translated) Maybe these words are made just for you, Marit. There is nothing to worry about. It's simply wonderful!

Cool spiral, Marit! Yep, I go thru lots of phases where nothing I make seems any good. That's why I post so few. You just have to keep going - pop up to Rendo for a break and then go back to it. Just about the time you start telling everyone you're in a slump - BAM! You'll hit on something that won't let you go for days working on it and everything just flows and you're in the groove. Trick is not to get too down. Save all the stuff you start and go back to them later when inspiration returns.
