Description

Thanks to Rids for this terrain: 'Cygnus-Prime' which you can download at 'TerraNuts'. For some reason, the water took on a pattern which was not visible in the preview. I was surprised to see at in the final render. Thanks for your comments on my last image 'Dead Horse Point'.

Amazing the muddy colour on the water! agree with the strange pattern, may be this is a 2 step resize? i'm notice that resize the image in two step and use 2 sharp pass, give to my render a grid similar to those i see there also in the bitmap image.

Agree with Olivier, the water still have the "parallel wave" problem, but the mood is perfect.

superb lighting and lovely muddy water..perhaps you can eliminate the Terragen flaw by moving the cam elevation/pov just a bit?

Wonderful image Bob...I'm still convinced the pattern lines in water are caused by a high distort by terrain water setting in SoPak. For some reason SoPak water (distort by terrain) picks up the pattern of the terrain textures. I use a very low or even no, distort by terrain water setting. Looks like you used a high tile setting for one or more of your textures, around 1000 or so... :)

Agree with Mark completely about Water Surface. I have used this terrain many times and you could find more Depth (Maybe try lowering the terrain Hgt some)? Try using more layers in your dirt and rock with out overlays and see what you come up with. Terragen is capable of realistic surfaces without the use of overlays.
