Description

Mount Rainier, WIP I have had DCG's Ground Control plugin for a long time without making use of it until now. It took me a while to figure out how to merge the Mount Rainier east and west DEM files together but once it was done, the Groung Control plugin did an awesome job of creating this highly deteiled terrain. As I have indicated, this is a work in progress. I am not happy with the sense of depth and would like to enhance it. I also intend to add some foreground and perhaps a low lying cloud or two. Any comments or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks for looking.

yeah, thats gong the right way; suggestions: use green for the ground, and brown for the green, the preset of carrara is not so good. The snow needs a bit hightlight/shininess to get it realistic. Forget the clouds of the sky, only tht sirrus are good, take the 4D. For the final render you need GI, long rendertime, but thats the last kick to bring it to reality. At last: I work only with custom-distribution, there are some mistakes in the presets that leeds to unsharp rocks (really blurred), and why the flattest parts of a terrain (ground) are yellow and not green is a question, only a wise man can answer) looking forward to your progress!!
