Description
Another break from the norm, i.e. not an MW landscape render. Primarily a lighting and texture test for fun.
Modelling and deformation achieved in Cinema 4D, the rest in MW3. The light squares on the chess board are a tweaked landscape mat and the chess pieces use a custom built texture. the lighting regime consists of a very, very weak sunlight (about 0.1) and 2 point lights, 1 with shadows.
Oh, and everything is reflective...
very slight glow added in post

Hm, Heinlein is the name of one famous SF writer, if I'm correct :) And He have a novel titled "Stranger in a Strange Land". Yes, Martin is right, its a perfect illustration for that :) http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/ea.cgi?Robert_A._Heinlein

You could have created all of the scene including models with MW3 Pro...but it would have taken a lot of time :) MJT for the pieces & sparse convolution for the mats on the pieces. But hey....whatevers quickest & easiest for you :)) Excellent render, great lighting & reflections & the whimsical mood is a nice touch :-) Happy New Year Angela.
