Description
This image has been catalogued for further scientific study. This ice world was discovered today and this recent addition to Arganis Star System has increased the planetary bodies to two. The distances are being confrimed by our astrometrics and will not be available for a few days. This Arganis Ice world is closer to the sun than the Gas gaint which is visible in our previous image in the archives. The Ice World is 1,950 miles in daimeter and the ice worlds composition contains large amounts of frozen, iron, and various other common materials found on small class planets along with a relatively weak atmosphere of nitrogen and hydrogen. Due to its distance to the sun the planet may be on an elliptical orbit which would explain the large valleys on the surface and the irratic vein like gorges which are clearly visible in this image. This would also explain the fact that the water is currently frozen and as to why there is more water located on the southern hemisphere and in partly due to it five degree inclination of the planet.
Another object which is visble is a Comet which is yet to named but is classified as Arganis Comet I until a more suitable name is provided. The comet is comprised of 75 percent of ice and some solid metal and iron compounds. The tail spans over 350,000 kilometers and has a orbit of unknown length.
I hope you enjoy my first image of the year and hope to provide the community with many more over the years to come. Happy New Year and please leave you comments.
