Awesome picture. Don't worry though, what you see is steam, not a posionous smoke plume. The hyper-paraboloid stack shape helps to dissipate the steam to the atmosphere. This phenomenon is common when the air temp is cool. I used to live within 30 miles of 3 nuke power plants, and saw this often in the cooler months. -The Starkdog

Now if you saw plumes coming from the two smaller dome shaped buildings, and firetrucks around... Then it would be time to worry. Fortunately what you see is normal (like what Starkdog said.)

Yes, I think we need these for power. Without power we probably couldn't use our computers or light our cities.

It is a superb pic. - we all have to think what we are doing to our surroundings. If it is harmless as others think, well the buildings are still a blot on the landscape. Personally I would think there are many harmful things to the environment in this pic. if it is a nuclear power station what will they do with all the waste ?

hmm, it is a bit frightening, not the photo itself, just some gigantic stacks releasing much steam, only steam. but underneath...a flash of death.
