Description

Please excuse the pretentious title, I just couldn't think of anything catchy, which is usually the biggest problem I have with my art. Since I rarely set out with something in mind at the start of a creation, I find it extremely difficult to name these things. Oh well... For those wondering, Lydia was the area Arachne of Greek mythology resided, and the region, like Arachne, was known for their excellence in the textile industry (though industry might be the wrong word). Hope you all enjoy this one. Comments and suggestions for improvement are welcome and ENCOURAGED. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to view. And thanks to those brave souls who have ventured into my gallery to view and comment in the past!

Besides the earthy tones there are some tiny spots of contrasting Gold and Violett that jump out of the "Chaos" and bring life to this image. A very good feature!

Wonderful play of form, colors and texture.

The layered complexity draws the eye which searches in vain for evidence of design, finding instead just pure expression - excellent image!

Couldn't think of a better title, sums it up wonderfully. Texture reminds me of cork

I'd love to be able to give you a great suggestion for improvement, but I like this image very much as it is. The only (very small) thing I can see is that compositionally the extreme left-hand side of the image is dominated by the lighter grey colour; I think I'd maybe crop the left 8th of the image off (I'd find the new, less wide aspect-ratio slightly more appealing too). As I said, it's a very small thing; I like this image very much!

Superb abstract, Stefan. The color scheme is perfect for this subject and in combination with the lightplay on the forms, imparts a sense of dynamism and an aura of antiquity. I found your title most appropriate and think your abstract is outstanding!

Great title! I love the textile feeling to this image. The colors are very appealing, with touches of purple and silver. Lovely!
