A great read ... You've managed to convey the mood and the scene in a very concise and satifying way. BTW for definitions of poetic forms [including Odes] try http://www.shadowpoetry.com Also: should it be 'what' not 'why' - last line 2nd stanza?

I was kind of confused when I saw that "why" as well. Other than that this is one solid chunk of words. I like them.

Well it started by making me hungry, and I am so desperately trying to cute down on my food intake. So thanks for that. ;0) Excellent Ode though and I would say this would constitute an ode.
