Hi my name is Bill(started here as Primaltruck). I am an old hippy from the santa cruz mountains.I live with my wife and kids Alice and Chris..we also have 2 other kids Jason and leah, that are married and live elswhere..we live in the redwood forest with a spring and waterfall on our property and about 700 2nd growth redwoods..My artwork is definetly inspired by were i live and my family. My daughter(Alice) being a Tatoo artist and wife being my worst critic.she knows me and knows how to tell me when something doesnt look right without getting under my skin..Alice likes all art so she always says good things that help inspire me and i try to do the same for her..if you look at my rendorosity gallery you will see that i had a pretty rough start and took a year or so to get the hang of 3D art as i have always scetched and painted and created..But learning how to deal with something new is always an adventure..and its been a lot of fun and i have made alot of friends along the way.I mostly use Bryce and Poser and Photoshop on a Dell PC..and plan on getting Vue in the near future..and...I couldnt talk about art with out mentioning Dudley Wade(Prog)Who was one of my first friends here and a heck of a great teacher and i think i learned more from his advise and studying his art than anything else....I dont think i have a style, except that my style is in doing something different when i can think of it!and the longer i post art in these galleries the more i realize that its not really about the art but about the friendships made....getting better with our art is just icing on the cake..I have also been a musician all my life and have played guitar for 30 some odd years..Loving everything from Mel Torme to Jimi Hendrix to all the great new music i hear..some Favorites..Frank Zappa,Stevie Ray Vaughn,Beatles,Pink Floyd,Yes,Scott Henderson,Steve Vai,Joe Satriani,Steve Morse,Nuno Bentencourt,Paul Gilbert,Vinnie Moore,Frank Gambale,Al Dimeola,Les Paul,Chet Atkins,Speedy wes,Jimmy Brynt,Barney Kestle,Charlie Byrd, and many more..i have been posting at renderosity mostly and at Dreamslayerart,Tapestry of dreams,Innertraveler, artzone, renderotica and 3DCommune..not all at the same time...lol...I am very easy to get along with and treasure the friendships made here..I am not afraid to speak up for what i believe in ,am strictly non violent, love nature, and always looking for fun and a reason to celebrate life...so dont be afraid to say hello or ask for help..I dont bite that hard...Love and Peace and Respect.

Nice work Bill Love the pose for the archer Most people have the bow string drawn back too far the thumb should rest just beneath the cheek.(I shoot modern Re curve bows)this is the nearest Ive seen. Excellent work!

I think you're some sort of Artist genius.. because you'll do anything..and make it wonderful. What struck me most about this image wasn't just the beauty of it..but the almost humble apologetic way you'd modify if not correct. There's this sort of egomaniac inside of me that assumes most of what I do is perfect if I like it.. that's just copping out..but I figure if I please myself that's something..because how can I know what everyone else wants? You seem to know.. and that's incredible.

Couple of points on the archer's pose (I've shot modern recurve and traditional longbow). The hand holding the string, the string would be held back against the first finger joints with the forefinger and index finger barely touching the arrow, you've got the string going way too deep into the archer's hand. With a long bow, there are two methods of aiming... 'face walking' and 'string walking'. With face walking, the arrow is always knocked to the same point on the string and aiming is achieved by 'walking' the knocked arrow up and down the side of the face. With string walking, the string is always drawn back to the same point on the face, but the arrow is knocked higher or lower on the string. The usual method is 'face walking'. Regarding the bow hand, the bow is pulled back by the pull on the string so that it presses agains the ball, or pad, of the thumb where it joins the hand so that the pull on the bow is transmited down the length of the arm. Your archer's bow hand is bent way too far inwards and the pull on the bow would either break his thumb or pull the bow from his hand. Finally, for a right handed archer, the arrow would lay against the other side of the bow and rest on a small wooden rest, not on the archer's thumb. Ok, all technical points i know.... but you did ask lol. But it's still a great pic, well done.

I agree with everything that Robin said!!! LOL!! Well, I want to do an archery image, too, but the posing really is intimidating!!! Maybe if I make the hooters big enough, no one will notice the pose!!! LOL!! EXCELLENT work, Pal!!!!!! You really put something special into all of your images!!!
