hmm, I've had similar thoughts in the past. Like What if what you see, only you see, a depiction of reality created by your minds eye, and each persons mind's eye produced something different, perhaps we all actually like the same colour, the same tasts and smells, but these things are are depicted differently for each person, giving the immitation that we are all unique creations, when in reality we are not..... sorry, got carried away therre! very nice D, I like it!

I've had some of the same thoughts. Although, I've learned that im not the only one who mourns over the lost of a loved one. so at least you arent alone there :)

Some answers to your question lie in religion. So it depend the person and their religious. If you believe in a one "true" God than you'd believe in the concept of good and evil and heaven and hell. Most Eastern philosophies believe in transcendence, the belief that we go through life and death over and over again until we transcend beyond death into nirvana. Whatever a person's regilious belief I am sure that everyone hurts and mourn the loss of a loved one. At one point or another we all ponder the meaning our life and our purpose for being in the world. For myself ....I am torn. I identify with Eastern thought and beliefs because it makes sense to me. But having grown up and gone to a Catholic school the concept of heaven and hell is very strong for me also. So I really don't know the answers to the questions you ask either. All I can say is ...make your time here count...all we have is the now....time is timeless but we are not.
