Description

This is the 1st good image that I've photographed with my new Deep Sky Imager. 52 frames(30 seconds each) were stacked to get this almost-perfect shot of the Orion Nebula-M42! Haven't had many good nights lately to image much else! This starbirth cloud is around 1600 light-years away. Hope to bring you more...if it ever clears up!! ***Thanks For Looking*** **Rick**

Stunning Capture!... Most Excellent First Try!... Looking Forward to More!... What Kind of Imager and Scope? I Looked for an Adapter for "Camera to Scope" and They Were $130, But, You can Buy an Imager With CCD Camera/Attachments/Cables and Software Was Only $150! I just Made an Adapter for 50 cents But it's Been to Cloudy to Try it.

Nice image - was this done with the Mead DSI? What scope were you using? Another trick you might try is to take a few shorter exposures and combine them with the longer ones to help show the trapezium which typically gets washed out. Thanks for sharing.

Incredible work again, Rick! I'm in awe! Have been to the planetarium (sorry don't know the exact English word for that) two days ago... me and my family go there every month :o) it's so interesting to learn about the universe and the perform the lessons fantasticly. Comparing with what I've seen there I can say this one is a pro shot! v

Situated below Orion' belt. From what I understand, you can see it with the naked eye. But I live in the suburbs and makes it very hard to see.
