the thumb just doesn't do this justice... maybe if you have (pan) in the title... excellent stiching & view... tough lighting... hard to up the contrast without losing your blues :]

Thanks for the comments and advice, Cynlee. Title changed! When I think about it, the pictures were taken from about two, maybe two-and-a-half miles away, so contrast was always going to be an issue - as you surmised, I have pushed it as far as I can, really. I had to fiddle with the colour curves to counter the effect of pushing the contrast.
