the Pasadena (California) Tournament of Roses has been held for 106 years and is on the first day of the year (except Sunday). it is nationally televised in the USA. i'm not sure of the rest of the world's coverage. my church is on the parade route and we sell grandstand seats. members of the church and guests can sit out on the street and i usually get a seat right on the "blueline" with no one in front of me. that's why i can get such good pictures with my Sony CD1000 digital camera.
