Description

A cross between Band of Brothers & Warlord Comic (anyone British who grew up in the 70's will remember this!). This image is different from my usual ones as it's had some postwork, normally I don't except for lettering and compostition. But given the large number of elements this time it needed it. Note: This is a reduced resolution version. Full size version (700k) avaliable at: www.sparkyworld.org\bits\dday1.jpg Created using the following products/freebies... From Vanishing Points': Project D-Day: Ohama Beach...Landing Craft, Beach Leopald Gun, beach obstacles, bunkers farmhouse and Leopold railgun. Jonathan Lynn's (aka "lynnJonathan") World War 2 Outfit Provided all the clothes, assorted weapons and backpack prop for the US troops. Gerald Day's Book (used as bible). Ah3d's Jeep. John Austin (aka Becco) Impact Zone's for the vomit and water splash. Thip & CoreArts PanzerGen/German Soldier. Provided all the clothes, hats, accesories and weapons for the Germans. Simple custom texture fill taken from an image of a real M40 Tunic and Trousers (Pants). Helgard's Binoculars from Vanishing Point. Lighting and Rendering: Frame 1: Vue 4 marine lighting customised. Postwork: Flaming Pears Melanchoytron and poke through cleaned up by cloning. Mike had one than 1 weapon on display ;) Frames 2,3 and 4: Straight Poser renders, using Runtime DNA's Figure spots lighting. Postwork: Poke through cleanup. Frame 5: Vue 4 render with customised lights. Postwork: Melanchoytron and poke through cleanup. Frame 6: Main scene: Straight Poser render using Runtime DNA's Figure spots lighting no postwork. Binocular lens: created in Vue, postworked with eyecandy 4000 for glass and cut out/shadow effect. Frame 7: Beach scene rendered in Vue with custom lighting then used as a Background for poser. Figure, splash & Jeep added then rendered with Daz global. Postwork: Explosion and splash in Particle illusion, minor pokethrough cleanup.

Very cool! I like the explosions and the water splash under the soldier's foot. Where's the next part of the story? :)

Very cool. I love the reflections on the binocs and the jeep coming apart in the explosion.
