Description

First model of the new year! This is a stealth attack hovercraft, of my own design. The render is Flamingo, with a light dome. I was trying to apply aircraft stealth techniques to a hovercraft, which is tough but an interesting challenge. Thanks for looking!

SW, you need to submit this to the Department of the Navy. Never know, you might find a new job?

Looks great! I truly do think that the idea would fly... so to speak. Making something stealth is usually a massive amount of paperwork and calculations, but this is cloe enough for a concept.

Damn! I want one. Very cool textured or not. Keep up the good work and lets put rhino on the map.

Get rid of the railing. Its ruining the stealth profile. A solit raling with a sharp angle would be better. You should also work in more angles in the hull and make the machine cannons retractable. I suppose the two dishes before and behind the tower are supposed to be radar. Whatever they are: If they are sensors of any kind they are blocked in the shown position and the aft one would be blocked most of the time anyway. However, really good modelling work! Good luck with the texture. It will look really cool. :D

Aye, I think it's a great model, and you must retain SOME functionality for it to have worth as a hovercraft. A ship without railing? The crew would be done for...! I really like the clean, crisp modeling here...

Great job Smallworld. I really like the design and the Flamingo renderings. I also hope there will be a textured version.

Isnt it unwise to put guns (sources of heat) right in front of those engine intakes? At least they appear to be engine intakes. If a heatseeking missile blow up of those cannons (or a technical malfunction whis is always possible), the debries of these cannons would go straight into those intakes. The whole ship doesnt look very stealthy to me as well. It is a damn cool hovercraft, but it lacks almost all important stealth qualities. It looks aerodynamic, but that is not really the same as stealth capable. If you wanna see a stealth-like hovercraft, look for that thing the finish have built. It gets much closer to the stealth concept. However, pretty damn cool hoverfraft.
