Description

I was working on a close up the tree I shot in Golden Boughs and Fragments of the Sun but have not been totally happy with the results. The unaltered image is okay, and the variations I've worked on don't seem quite there. But there was this little corner of the image that always caught my eye, so I decided to crop and post it. I know there are digital artifacts in the image (sorry) but to make them less noticeable I'd have to reduce the size too much and it looses something then. Besides, I kind of like them. Thanks for all the great comments on yesterday's photo. Olympus C-3030z with postwork in PhotoshopCS. ------ "There once was a little tree who could not grow any leaves. Try as she might, she could not get a single leaf to sprout. Every spring when the other trees began to bud and turned green, they would laugh at the little tree and call her Baby Bare Branch. This hurt her deeply, and sap like tears would run down her bark to the soil below. One day the Sun took notice of the little tree. While the others stood resplendent in their summer foliage, she alone lifted her bare branches to the sky. Seeing this, the sun took pity on her and sent down a lush cloudbank. This he twinned about her branches until at last she stood resplendent in a soft fuzzy white umbrage. Never again were the other trees cruel to her and she soon became the most popular tree in the forest. Birds and squirrels would prance around in her misty boughs and larger animals and people would sit under her cool dewy limbs to escape the summer heat. She felt like an outsider no more."
