Just a repost of a older image. This is of a bear bomber which is one of those designs that last thu the years.

Yes I do know that. I remember being stationed in Iceland in the 1980's. (I am an old git)　we had t-33 jet trainers and F-4 at the time. The T-33's were not fast enough to keep up with a bear even though they were jets(1946 vintage)Bears are used for everything. Cargo patrols AWACS sub hunting a good design like the C-130 or B-52 one that is hard to replace even with modern technology.

Nice Bear! What a plane, uh? And my goodness, imagine flying over those empty, unfriendly spaces, where there is no place to land, no place to find help, no place to survive! All you have to rely upon is this great plane. Althought the experiments with the supersonic props ultimately failed, this one still is one of the greatest and boldest turboprop designs in the world. And it can fly low and slow, if it needs to! It's not just one of those up, up and away kinds of planes which are quite troublesome to land if a runway is not 2 miles long :-) I think this rendering gives you a sample of what it means to fly anything long range and strategic. Good work!
