Description

Here is a different version of an image I posted over a year ago. Just a little experiment to see if this gets more viewings so I know which version is the better choice for my website. This shot was taken during the fires here that wiped out 250 homes. There was an oppressive blanket of smoke shrouding the scenery for many days. This kind of shot is something you wouldn't normally see in the relatively fogless Okanagan. -Matt

Nicely cropped and good selection for depth of field

There was actually no DOF here...the shutter speed was low so the moving branches give the impression of DOF.

Your right...seems like a Vancouver type image. Haven't seen the other one,but this would make a great one for your site.

Very moody crop in B/W. Also like the original one in colour with the water in the foreground. Sorry can't say which I prefer, like both. Great..Steve : Scotland

Normally I would favor a shot like this in color- but this is excellent in B&W. Your crop & framing of this with the trees along with the B&W is just perfect!

I remember this image..... so beautiful this piece. So I went back and compared the color and BW..... personally prefer the color version. I think the tonal range in bw is very low key, would prefer to see just slightly more contrast on this in BW, but that's just me. Which ever you decide is sure to be a hit...

A very cool image with a cool crop. I normally would do this kind of shot in color, can't say that I remember the original image so I will have to dig for it. I do like this in black and white, but like Chelle maybe a tad bit more contrast?! :)

Its has a excellent cut for the scene, the long crop makes it extra exciting. You could possibly try cropping the boat on the third line. Maybe? Anyway, it has a very relaxing effect on me, and a kinda japanse feel to it. Beautifull.
