Description

This is based roughly upon an actual incident, during the closing months of WWII, that happened my Uncle Ford Comfort. By then, the Luftwaffe was often low on fuel and ammunition. Aircraft were getting scarce, too, so they often put in show of force and did what they could, but usually the sorties were seriously limited by those lacks. In this picture, the two German pilots are low on fuel and already out of ammunition, so their primarily duty was to get their aircraft back in one piece. They are frustrated at not being able to do serious damage to their enemy, so they decided to buzz this convey and at least make them duck. Who knows? They might get lucky and cause one of the trucks to drive over the cliffside. I added some terrains, the river, and the trees. The pine trees are by Scott Tucker and purchased here at Renderosity. I realized after I had rendered this that the convoy is driving on the wrong side of the road for the European theatre. Tried to see if I could move them, but somehow had already inadvertantly unblocked the entire convey down to its ultimate pieces. It would have taken hours to reassemble it as one block, so I thought, "to hell with it! and went to bed. Except for that one small gaff, I think the picture is historically correct. I hope, I hope, I hope... Thanks for looking! Jeremy Credits: All vehicles, aircraft, and highway and cliff sections are net freebies. The convoy vehicles I retextured. The Me109s were modeled and textured by Vincent Moyet at Amalthea 3d. Thanks, Vincent, for some great models! The road sections and cliffside are by J. Trout. Poser 5, Bryce 5, PSP 5, DAZ Michael 2. Their outfits and textures by Lynn Jonathan.

Great image, especially the textures used on the cliffs! If you did a bit of postwork to hide the seems it would be perfect :D
