Description
Just trying to Keep my gallery alive and interesting.
Came across this pic a while back, and decided it was nice enough to add here, so.. here it is. It's actually a few months old now, from September 2004. And as you can probably tell, the main focus is the lantern, and that's because I did this render for the Sept Wings3D challenge (Topic "illumination") here at R'osity.
Leme Copy/Paste my submission description for the lantern there...
"Ok here's my entry I just finished. Like I said in the challenge topic thread, I was gonna do this one either way, but since the topic is lights I'll toss it into the challenge ;]
A sort of Old style (made up though) underwater lantern. Fairly simple like a regular kerosene lamp, fuel reserve near the bottom, and the wheel on the side's for lowering and raising the wick to control flame size / light level.. Just that it's all fully enclosed and air tight. A valve at the top there leaks air out on a regular basis, but won't allow any water to enter. And fresh oxygen (needed by the flame) is sucked in through the hose on the back there near the bottom of the handle. (not the handle on top, that's just a smaller one used to hang the lamp on stuff, attach a rope there etc)"
And HERE's the actual mesh pic I uploaded, various angles + unsmoothed cage etc
Rest of the stuff.. Helm, Boots, & Spear are all for the same project, all old style fantasy-ish type diving equipment. The metallic strongboxes go along with it as well, while the barrels in the back are just older props I threw into the scene.
Everything modeled in Wings 3D, rendered in RayDream 5.5, post-work in Painter 5.5
