Description

This is the second photograph in a series of the sugar factory in the city of Breda. This picture was taken during the sugar campaign last year. Short after I had taken this photograph all of a sudden it has been announced that the factory will be closed down in a few years and there will be no more sugar campaign anymore. The sugar factory has been established duing the 19th Century and it has become very important for our city and it is in fact part of our history. In that way I feel a bit sad to loose this 'monument'. And then it's a strange feeling to realize that I maybe have taken one of the last opportunities to take photographs of a fully operational factory.

Impressive night shot ! I remember you told us it only works at night... must be a spectacle ! Noise and light... disgusting odours ? Seems quite isolated. In Spain they are quite close to the poblations and some times depending the direction of the wind... you can imagine... a terrifiying odour !

beautiful lighting here .. excellent! Reminds me of a site I saw yesterday; I was contemplating a shot, but we were doing 60 down the hiway ... I should have pulled over. You done good!
