"just a minute," she said
in an unfamiliar, steady tone.
situated in the otherwise vacant stall, she wiped her eyes dry
pulling her purse close, knicking herself
one
last
time.
fiddiling around,
she found her compact and reapplied her pale shade
to cover the smears left from her silent sob.
she stood up to readjust the kilt that sat on her awkward hips,
barely covering her awkward thighs.
disugsted, but somehow reassured
she lifted her skirt to study the marks she left
the
marks
that
made
her
beautiful
again.
her dirty little secret.

Love the way you captured how some ppl feel about self-mutilation... I'm iffy on the use of "awkward" twice in the same stanza (but it does still work) I also quite like: "she found her compact and reapplied her pale shade / to cover the smears left from her silent sob." but I do think it's stereotype reinforcement to imply that she is goth re: "pale shade" as I've known a lot of self-cutters who were the farthest thing from "goth". Overall, I am extremely impressed by this piece :)
