Description

This old looking lake modified racer was built by a handful of old-school hotroding gear heads. It was constructed with an idea and a bunch of extra parts laying around in back yards and garages. Believe it or not the body is actually a chopped 1981 Toyota pickup bed powered by an old flathead V8. Needless to say it's a kick in the ass. This photograph was taken at El Marage CA. Thanks for looking. Rabid Chiapet

I don't wanta say "does it really work?" with a high arch buggy spring in front of the rear axle, no antisway bar and split wishbone in the rear and quarter elliptics and dropped axle in the front. Spookey I'm sure. The lake is the test. Just entering this door is a treasure.

ok, I admit, I'm a gearhead, neat rod! I'm also a model car builder, and I see a future project here!

Yup, it works. My dad built it out of spare stuff he and his friends had laying about. Extra stuff. Goes straight as an arrow with parallel front leafs and 10 degree angled kingpins. Rear is Model T crossmember and spring. Photo, El Mirage, speed 92 with lots left. That flathead roars. Body? heavily modified old Toyota pickup bed. Whole car cost about $800. Man is it fun to drive. Come give it a try at the next SCTA run...
