Description

I just started learning digital art and this is my first render, took me about 5 hours. Used Bryce 5(never used it before) and for final finishing, Photoshop CS. I would appreciate any constructive criticism, since I am just starting out I need all the help I can get, but please be kind as, I have said this is my first piece. Thanks, Jim

Thanks for the encourgment you guys. That gives me the motivation to keep learning and continue. I am working through a huge Bryce tutorial learning how all the functions and tools work. After that I look forward to posting my next entry. Thanks again.

This looks more like 2D that Bryce. You apparelntly followed the tutorial by Greg Martin (painting starfields and planets). What is 2D and what is Bryce in this image?

Thanks for the welcome adrian and thank you and tony for the nice words, I really appreciate it and I have looked at the galleries of everyone that has commented here and all of you do outstanding work I can only look forward to the day when I am able to do such work. Now in answer to your questions Bazze. I know there is not any revolutionary 3D rendering in this work, however as I said I am very new to this and I wasnt trying anything advanced, just learning how to use Bryce. Part of the starfield is done in bryce, the large planet and atmosphere at the bottom is in Bryce along with the comet. I did do the planet in the upper corner with photoshop. You said-- "You apparelntly followed the tutorial..."-- Well, yes I did read his tutroials and alot of others for that matter. That is how I am learning. I dont know if your post is accusatory(thought I dont know what it would be accusing me of) or if you are just curious, but I am just learning and having fun as I go and thought I would share my first work with everyone here as they have done. Bottome line, 75% was done in Bryce. I will do my very best to make my next work a true 3D marvel LOL. By the way, you never said if you like it or not.
