Description

This is my first finished 3d car model (admittedly based largely on a tutorial by Will Chestnutt at Lightwave Group (http://www.lwg3d.org) and my first big project in Lightwave (I used Max for a couple of years and dropped it ENTHUSIASTICALLY in favour of LW :) It's far from perfect - more of an exercise really, a lot of modelling and texturing shortcomings (and I forgot the logo on the bonnet :) but it's not that bad for my first model in LW, eh? :). Anyway I've always dreamt of modelling cars so now I think I'll be able to develop my skills in the area, after this first attempt...

very impressive modelling on this awsome M3 beast, and one of my favorite cars atm. Your modelling skills seems to be very slick. The only crit i am going to give you, and it is really a small one. Look into using the fast Fast Fresnal & BRDF shader that can be allowcated in the shaders tab with the surface editor. It will give your car paint/refelections a more convincing look. I hope to see more of your handy work in the future Pablo.

Thanks a lot for the comments! Yes, I agree the reflections (especially on the front) need touching up, I used gradients to control them depending on incidence angle, but they didn't turn out as expected. I hope to post an improved version. Thanks again for the positive feedback!
