Yo! I'm Dawn, 29 years old, born in California USA. Yeah, I'm a Cali Girl! *eg*
I found this site totally by chance a few years ago... They should put up a warning label that says "Warning - you will become addicted to this site!" lol I'm a self-taught artist going on...oh...*pauses for a moment* almost 20 years. I find many inspirations - mostly by comic books and music, as well as other artist's works. I am totally into CGI - especially Poser, as well as working on my own artworks using Photoshop. I hope you like my works - I put a lot of myself into them. At the moment (beginning August 2007) I've gone back to school and I'm going for my AA in Art. For those of you who don't get it, it's my Associates Degree. Three years from now I'll have my degree *whimpers at thought of amount of time* Hey! If it will teach me more than I already know, great! :-)
Thanks for stopping by to check out my stuff!

shudders....oooh...not good this time ladyS, not good at all....the grey is blurry and dull and the flouro pink is bad, just bad. Blue hair is ok but needs more hair strands and definition and finer shiney bits. Skintones are ok but a little dull overall. The background...well... less said about that the better.... Why not go and look at the "catgirl" picture in my gallery and try to apply those colours to this picture and do it over? That might go a bit better..? Sorry - just trying to help.

I think this looks pretty good. I don't like the background. It's too distracting. I think it needs softened quite a bit and not so bright. I think the character looks good. I agree with SeanE, I don't like the gray and pink. I think it's a white outfit, so it should have more blue shading than gray. I can't remember for sure, but I don't think the pink is that intense on the character. I like the hair and skin tones. All and all pretty good.

Personally. I think it's very good, needs some work but not a lot. I do like the background because it is different. The main thing I see that is wrong with the picture is some of the outlining is rough. For the colors I think they are just fine. Never be afraid to experiment, listen to pointers, if you agree with the pointers change the picture. If however you like what you have done leave it as it is. I would rather see you change a piece to look different than the original. Just have fun with it. The most important person to like your work must be you. If you are not happy with it then it will show in your work. Ok, this old man has said enough, keep upthegood work.

I don't think this is terrible at all. I think the pencils don't make a solid line, so the smoothness of the shading gets lost. There are times when it is appropriate to improve lineart. I get it all the time, and if something isn't working for me, I change it. No sweat. You can always download a fur texture too. Just slap it on top, desaturate and hit multiply. :P I actually very much enjoy the shading you added here. Good work and keep up it up! (Hehe, now I'm blabbering on and on. This pic is a good conversation piece)

Thank you all for your comments and critiques! They are all very helpful in teaching myself in coloring. Honestly though, I was working from a colored version by Erik Ko of Udon, so... Anyway... For anyone who's curious, I will be away for 3 months starting tomorrow (Friday, 21). But when I come back, I hope to have more images to post! Thanks again for all your comments! :)

I think the background works well and gives direction to an kool action shot.

think the background's cool except that it uses almost the same colors as Felicia herself, which is why it's distracting. It shud be maybe slighty desaturated or just play around with "ctrl-u" (hue/saturation tool) Yeah i agree with Juji that the pencils spoil the smoothness of the shading, sometimes u gotta apply a different coloring style to different types of pencils. This 1's rather rough and thick so making the colorin rough and "slabbed on" wud look better i think. (mmm maybe sth like kid's) Actually the shading is pretty good, maybe your colors are too saturated, or bright, or flouro :P It cheapens the look. I'd try to go for softer colors. But that's just my opinion and taste. Keep up the good work. And good luck! :)

I think the picture by it's self is very nice indeed in fact is is pretty awesome. The background I could care less about could have made it black for all I care. The shading is sweet very nice the only thing I think may have really made it stand out if the flesh tone was a little warmer. As far as the hair ummm if Iam not mistaken she said he got the picture for another site and that is the way it was drawn dont worry about more strands. Again I think the character overal color and shading is Awesome great job.

Those are the colors of Felicia! Haven't you played Darkstalkers before?
