I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

Absolutely gorgious!!

Proof...Two hoovers are better than one...the orange king rubbed off on you :). The wet line detail is too prominant and the black highlights seem to dominate...the water transparency seems unnatural and the overall image a bit too sharp for me. A cool concept but...sorry, you guys are better than this... :( Don't hate me...Its just my silly opinion.

Agree with Markal about the wet line...disagree about oversharpened....think it's sharpened just fine. Water transparency looks OK to me. Also, love the lighting.

This could be the uninhabited areas near my home. The recent California rain/flood waters are still draining down the washes of the desert where I live, on the other side of the mountains, and into the high desert. Beautiful image.

Since its your 'hood, Bob, I figure you'll know best how the watrerline looks. You've always pulled great images out of this terrain and it combines wonderfully with this atmosphere. Wish I could see more detail in those shadows, though.

Agree 100% with gradient regards sharpening and transparency, etc. However, this is still the best teamwork I have seen in...well, ever. And the image is simply stunningly beautiful. For me, the atmo and the rock textures really stand out as being untouchable by mere mortals. Masters both.
