Description

Wrong Hill? Well , my trail took a turn in the wrong direction and I ended up on the wrong red hill. But luck was with me as the intended hill would have been a lot steeper to climb. Heres a view of that hill and whats behind hill.... Snow! Also, those trees just below me will eventually become Nakid Trees. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

Hi Sharky, long time no see (I have a lot of catching up to do). I'm glad you didnt get completely lost out there...if it were me, I'd still be walking around in circles. What a contrast in vegetation, one with snow, the other looking like the Australian outback! Amazing capture of nature's diversity =)

Was wondering if they have those little cactus burs that get stuck in your socks and shoes. This is a brilliant photo.Can't wait to get to the top.

dBgrafix. No cactus burs seen at this altitude. I'm at the 9000 ft level. But there is some cactus plants at the lower part of Mauna Kea. Thanks for asking. Aloha

Great POV! This red hill is actually a very old cinder cone, right? Interesting to see how tenacious life is even in these extreme conditions. Be sure to pace yourself so you don't get altitude sickness! ;) Mahalo and Aloha.
