Description

***(Special Note: On my Renderosity homepage I have posted 120 of my favorite images by other artists in an unusual way. I have presented all the images in a sequential Storyline form. The first comment begins the story and then you click on the image link to see an illustration of the story, then to the next comment, then image link, all the way through the end of the story. To visit my homepage click on my artist name above.)*** In the future when you return from space to visit Hawaii, Earth, this is the type of lei they give you. They also say Aloha. Most people know that Aloha can be used for both hello and goodbye. It also has connotations of kindness, harmony, and patience. The Aloha spirit signifies the unity of heart and mind, and respect and well-wishes toward others. A beautiful, elegant word and meaning. The Rorschach question is: Have you ever been the recipient of an act of kindness from a stranger, or taken the opportunity to bestow one? One of my stories: When I was 18 I had been driving alone for 12 hours straight and it had just turned dark. Through a combination of circumstances I suddenly found myself heading at a concrete wall and heavy metal girder at 60 miles an hour. I jerked the wheel and managed to just hit the concrete 6 inch curb with my left front tire, which launched the car into traveling only on the 2 right side wheels. The car landed back down on all 4 wheels and I veered across 3 lanes of highway (without crashing into any other cars) to the shoulder on the right side. The whole thing took 2 or 3 seconds. I sat there for a moment feeling very happy and blessed not to be hurt, then I got out to look at the damage. The front left tire was blown and the rim was crushed but that was it. Change the tire and I could be on my way again! As I walked back to my trunk a car pulled onto the shoulder with a man and woman in it. The man got out and asked if I needed any help. I told him it was just a flat and I had a spare and jack so I'd be fine. He said he would wait around just to make sure everything was okay and we made small talk while I got the tire and jack out. As I started to raise the car up I watched the jack buckle and bend in half, now comically useless. He got his jack out and we got the replacement tire on. From chatting they knew that I still had several hundred miles to go before I reached home and they would not let me leave until I accepted their jack for free for the rest of the trip. Which I did. Aloha

A spectacular fractal - like glorious parrot feathers. Very creative. It is interesting how good a random act of kindness makes you feel. Giving and receiving, both ways renew your faith in humanity. :o) CC

What would your fractals look like if you refused to use the "pattern" of colors that you tend to favor (bright greens, yellows, reds, pinks, blues) and on your next fractal used only "desert" colors (earth tones, beiges, browns, dull yellows and greens)? Is the attraction we all feel for what you create color related, or is it design? I wonder. And don't you think that random acts of kindness are a way of life (a life pattern) for some, and non-existant for others? I think my experience leads me to believe that "random" acts of kindness are anything but random for those who do them and are more properly a chosen way of living, a way some want to be--but without consciously deciding that. Conversely, I know many who never commit or receive, ever, a random act of kindness. Your personal web page story and illustrations are fascinating. I am working my way through it.

Aloha. It describes your art and your story. I think random acts of kindness are everywhere just waiting for someone to let them happen. They are not thoughts, they are opportunities. A kind heart floats from one to another, just like the flowers on a lei would float on water.
