Description
These Catalan mountains are covered in terraces where they have grown almond and hazlenut tres for years. Each stone in the walls placed by hand. We met a very large black dog guarding a small hut. He wasn't chained so we beat a hasty retreat. Ah well, the sun was going down anyway.

very impressive capture of this wall! I wonder always how the stones fit together! saw many like this in scotland and jugoslavia! ;o)

Excellent shot, Rozanne! Did you know that this skill is fast disappearing around the world. The skill is generally passed on from father to son. This may look simple, but to build a tight wall is a great art and rquires years of training. Thanks for sharing this picture
