I signed up at Renderosity in 2000 and spent a few years being inspired by some great artists around here, and learn from them. I was moderator for the Vue forum here at Renderosity from 2004 to 2008. If you want to learn about Vue, or share some tips, I encourage you to visit us. IÂ am currently drifting away from pure CGÂ and more into digital painting. I wish your staying at Renderosity will be as warm and instructive as it has been for me.
BIO
I was born in France and currently living in the USA. I have a technical background in Computer Science and a strong attraction for anything related to graphism (from visualizations, image analysis to photography and computer graphics). For the past few years, my work in CG has developed into something a little more serious than a hobby, with growing aspiration to turn it into something professional.
I also have a personal website at : Linfa.net. It is growing slower than I would like but hopefully it is worth visiting. Among other things, this site contains my main gallery, a section dedicated to Computer Graphics called Tricks and Treats and a link to my Store, where you can purchase t-shirts, posters, calendars and other products using some of my designs.
My 'trilogy' of tools is Poser for characters, Vue Infinite for atmospheres and rendering and Photoshop for touching up. I am currently practicing with Painter (not much to show so far) and learning modeling with Hexagon and Zbrush.

I forgot the usual credits : vicky 2 with StefyZZ's Asia, Olympian clothes by Anton, and Ultra Salon Hair by Menhdi Studios. Poser in Poser, rendered in Vue d'Esprit.

Love the setting and the structure, it's refreshing to look at. A tiny error, I'm currently researching dress of the 5thC BC and earlier in Greece and the gowns were almost to the ground and up to the neck, some without sleaves, i hope someone builds some clothes for this period soon! The petals are great touch.

Nice work, reminds me of Tadema's painting.

dragonfly: I could not find long wraps that would fold nicely for vicky. And I am not good enough with a graphics tablet to draw it myself :)

sirocco: You are right, I forgot the link to the original painting (Tadema's gallery). I tried to recreate the same ambiance as of the painting.

Actually, Tadema was part of a group called the PreRaphaelite Brotherhood and several of them did paintings on themes like these. I love them. You did VERY well in the recreation, the lighting is a little harsh and bright though. Try changing the color tone slightly. Tadema's works tended to have slightly more safron lighting, less harsh white. Also, I found that if you put a pleated skirt on the model that you can change the lengths on before applying the Olympian you get closer to the effect you are looking for. (see my Courtship of Gods for an example, but remember its an early experiment and not perfect) its not completely right, but closer than without.
