Description

If anyone looks at this I would welcome suggestions for a title. I couldn't think of a good one. I never get bored of pictures of swans; I think they are amongst nature's most beautiful creations. I'm sorry my shadow got in the way of the bill to the right of this shot. 20D, Canon 100-400L @400mm, 1/5000s, F5.6, ISO 800. The settings were a bit strange because I'd just been trying to shoot a cormorant in flight, in dull conditions, and then the sun came out & I saw this handsome young man. My brain just doesn't work fast enough sometimes....

Oooooooooooooo, how handsome can a bird get??? This is a gorgeous shot... keep up the great work! P.S. Don't get too close to them, they can be pretty mean!

wow Steve...this is really gorgeous, all the droplets on the feathers are awesome, the strong look is pefect...I would title it "I keep an eye on you".....this on goes in my favorites....v

Looks like he is saying "come closer,you gonna get bit." Droplets and clarity are fantastic. Reminiscent of one I did.But I kept getting bit on feet trying to get this close. Also went for the camera.

Fabulous detailed capture, I love the droplets on the well oiled neck feathers! The DOF is fabulous, the blue background makes such a wonderful contrast! This swan has very clean white neck feathers, they are often stained from continually dipping into the water for food! Excellent work here!
