Description
The overall design of "Factory Starship" is based on an illustration done by space artist Chris Foss as pre-production art for the science fiction/horror movie Alien. Foss's illustration of the other side of the ship can be seen in "The Book of Alien," published in 1979 by Heavy Metal Communications. I had to make up this side of the ship from scratch. I got my inspiration from other Foss ship designs seen in the Alien book. "Factory Starship" was modeled and rendered using TrueSpace 6.6. I created the custom yellow and black hull textures using Corel Draw 12. The running lights were added using Universe Images Creator 1.63. Chris Foss is one of my two favorite space artists / speculative spaceship design heroes.

Nice David! You must have had a lot of fun with those Texture maps! (I've lost a lot of hair recently with TS UV mapping, lol). You got the style! I'm feeling the 80's again.

Great work. I was waiting for you to get the Foss bug once I got my inspiration. Color is something so missing from a lot of space scenes . I find Fooss's work a great inspiration. Keep up the good work.
