Beautiful. It's a rainbow blossom, just opening up.

This spectral gradient is a very good one. And the contrast between colour and icy grey is beautiful.

I'm surprised that no one has commented on the way the elements of the spiral change and then change back again. That to me is what makes this a bit special.

Toby, people usually do not see what you see yourself....It takes more time to view than most of us take for it...thank you for the hint, I did not see it at first either....very nice effect!

This truly is lovely fractal image! The color combinations work perfect together and it has a great texture to it. LOve it a lot. "V"

Here's the recipe to get this effect: Use "Thin Orbit Traps II" as the coloring, Mode = closest, Closest Style = recip. Check the different closest functions, though "ident" and "modulus" seem to work best. Season with functions and parameters and trap shapes to taste. I don't know why this happens but it does....It seems to work best with single spirals such as many of my formulae produce.

Soo lovely, it looks bristled as if trying to protect it's soft underbelly. Very nice!!

Well... I'm going to have to give one of these a spin... thanks very much for the recipe, Toby. This does get curiouser and curiouser the more I gaze at it... there's almost an anime quality to it, and that's a rare circumstance with fractals. As my dad likes to say to my mom... "We must get one of those, Muriel!".... except her name is Carmen... ;) It's a keeper...
