Description

***A story about my Great-uncle Frogburt (Frogdip's lesser known, yet, as industrious younger brother.***
For two long years, Frogburt worked a claim, finding only enough gold to buy food and meager supplies. When even that didn't work out, he decided to seek other means to a fortune. Over a meal of boiled shoelaces, one evening in 1852, he hatched a brilliant, surefire plan. For the next few months, he worked none-stop, even as winter approached. Then, just when the snows came and the scourge of cabin fever was hitting, The Great Alleghany Roller Coaster opened. With nowhere to spend their money, area miners were more than happy to pay twenty dollars in gold to take a turn on the wildest thrill ride imaginable. For the next year, thousands of fun-seeking goldminers rode the coaster. Unfortunately, the Winter of '53 proved severe and the coaster made for good firewood. Uncle Frogburt took his fortune and went off to see the world. His engineering knowledge proved invaluable to some French guy named Eiffel.
*** I've always wanted to build a roller coaster, but couldn't figure out how, with my modest modeling skills. This is made with RG's Roadbuilder for Bryce beta program. The coaster is made up of only three terrains. The "rickety construction" is a transparency mat made in Photoshop. The track is two booleaned terrains with a similar mat applied with World Top mode. Trees by Extremethemes, snow mat by maga *** Alleghany, California is deep in gold country in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It's dear to my heart because I got trapped on some old mining roads, in winter, years ago on my way to visit friends.

Incredible creation! Reminds me of magic mountian in Disney, I looked at it as a child with the same awe as I see this ride, only I think I would have looked up at my dad and said a big "forget it"..I said my first cus word at 7yrs old on that ride, then by the end I had a dictionary full....Love the imagination and the story rocks!..Hey any relation to the brothers that built the city? ehehe(=
