Description
Thankyou all for your lovely comments on my tulip series so far.
A particular note to ChantalFrance: Here in Perth our Winter (no snow) is from June to August. All of the tulip photos were taken on 31st August 2004. So really, on the eve of Spring. Araluen Botanical Garden is in the hills (I say hills because they are one tenth the size of the French Alps) and being slightly higher the air is colder up there in the valley. But Tulips need particular conditions to grow, so every year the gardeners remove the bulbs from the ground and store them in massive coldrooms to substitute for snowfall. Then in late autumn/early winter, each bulb is replanted. So I dont think this is a different species of Tulip, rather, a lot of time and care is taken to make the tulips feel at home in a warmer climate than they are use to!
The tulips in Perth flower for a couple of weeks, end of August to mid September really. Hope that answers the climatic questions lol!!.

Beautiful Rachel!!!! I've always wanted to visit your country!!! Especially, Cape Leveque, Sandy Bay, Ningaloo Marine Park, and Karijini National Park, I think it would take me 6 months to see all the sites I'd like to see. Thanks for all the info on the climate, seasons, and tulips. Lets see more, have you been to Rottnest Island? I've heard about it...
