About time to join the general castlemania in this gallery, I thought...
I spent 2 weekends building the castle in SketchUp. Foreground vegetation is nearly all Xfrog. Michael3 and Charger Horse from DAZ. No postwork.
8.1mln+ polys, 262 objects, 6 lights; rendered with GI in 12 hours.

This is truly incredible! I do have a few questions... Do you have any sort of architectural background to be able to do these sorts of constructions? I presume you have a lot of practice and skill with Sketchup to be able to do this in ONLY two weekends? And finally a suggestion... if you haven't already, I think you should submit some of your work to the Sketchup gallery also!

Thanks, zescanner. I did put this image in the SketchUp gallery as well, actually. And no, I do not have any formal training in architecture, though I have a longstanding interest in it - I've been drawing castles since the age of 4 or thereabouts... I really don't think I am particularly skilled in using SketchUp - rather, I feel it is just such a brilliant program that it makes doing things like these quite easy. You can just let your imagination roam free (or run wild).
